All in cloud

  • All resources are hosted in a cloud provider
  • Hardware is maintained by cloud provider
  • Can scale up and down to meet demand

Hybrid cloud

  • Resources are hosted in a combination of private and public cloud

Advantages
  • Full control of hardware resources -> better security (maybe)
  • High agility (can scale up/down to meet demand)
    • Lower TCO (conversion of CAPEX to OPEX)
    • Low cost R&D
  • Enable deployment of resources globally

  • Higher TCO (CAPEX + OPEX)
    • Requires maintenance of hardware resources
  • Less agility (unable to scale up/down as required)
